PROGRAMS

	The Applied Ethics Institute at St. Petersburg College was established in 1999. Its mission is to promote ethics education and ethical awareness in the Tampa Bay region. The Institute offers programs in three broad areas of service: programs for students, community outreach, and programs for business and professional organizations.

	Student Programs St. Petersburg College offers required and elective ethics courses in both the classroom setting and online. In addition to these ethics courses, the college offers programs and services to support the practical application of ethics in culturally diverse Pinellas County. Student programs include: Ethics forums for students and the community Campus ethics clubs Collegiate Ethics Bowl teams in regional and national tournaments Publishes three texts: Ethics Applied, Business Ethics Applied, and Educational Ethics Applied Volunteer and community service programs

	Community Outreach Programs The Applied Ethics Institute sponsors a variety of ethics programs throughout Pinellas County and the Tampa Bay Area. Through partnerships with a wide variety of community organizations, faculty and students are involved in activities designed to elevate the awareness of ethical issues throughout the area. Community Outreach Programs include: Partnerships with Pinellas County Schools to promote K-12 ethics and character education Partnerships with local non-profits to promote community-based ethics programs. 	Business & Professional Ethics The Applied Ethics Institute is dedicated to supporting ethics in the workplace through programs for business, professional, and non-profit organizations, as well as public service groups. The foundation of these programs, and the secret of their success, is a faculty drawn from a broad spectrum of real-world backgrounds and experience, including law, business, healthcare, mass communications, education, criminology, and counseling. Business and Professional Programs include: Organizational training and consulting on enhancing ethical culture Ethics for Educators, a statewide online ethics course for Florida K-12 teachers Ethics based continuing education seminars and workshops.
