St. Petersburg College President Dr. Carl Kuttler welcomed members of the newly formed Advisory Board for the Applied Ethics Institute. SPC campus provosts and ethics faculty members were also present to welcome the board at the inaugural meeting.
The first of several meetings planned for 2006-07 included an overview by Applied Ethics Institute Director, Professor Keith Goree along with the mission, vision, and the beginning framework of an organizational plan to advance ethics in the community.
Initiatives include "Character Education in Pinellas County Schools," Kids and Character: Story-Time at the Library, "Hardwired to Connect," Ethics Beyond Compliance," Business Ethics Roundtable," and "Ethics for Educators."
The St. Petersburg College Applied Ethics Institute was one of four national "best practices" models invited to host a colloquium for directors of national ethics centers by the Association of Practical and Professional Ethics. |
